TOKYO / LOS ANGELES (Sept 21, 2026) — TOHO animation has officially detailed the second cour for the TV anime adaptation of Satsuki Nakamura’s light novel series Though I Am an Inept Villainess (Futsutsuka na Akujo dewa Gozaimasu ga). Titled “The First Royal Outing” Arc, the second part is scheduled to begin broadcasting and streaming in January 2027 following the conclusion of its summer 2026 broadcast debut.

Alongside a newly published key visual, TOHO animation revealed major character additions to the voice cast to mark the narrative transition into the southern Shu territory arc.

NARRATIVE BREAKDOWN: “THE FIRST ROYAL OUTING” ARC

Following the resolution of the court curse and body-swap incident between the frail Reirin and the ostracized Keigetsu, the story moves into early autumn during the annual Harvest Festival in the southern lands.

  • Inciting Malfunction: During preparations for the festival ritual, Keigetsu’s spell destabilizes, forcing a secondary body swap between Reirin and Keigetsu.

  • Rising Action: Amid the structural chaos following the swap, the post-swap Reirin is abducted, prompting direct intervention from her overprotective family.
