Magajin–Pixiv with Social Translation

Magajin logoSurprised this hasn’t gotten more coverage outside of the startup and VC circles, but there’s a new portal and community called Magajin that gives aspiring artists a space to share their work and offer feedback, similar to Japan’s Pixiv.

Where it differs when compared to similar sites such as DeviantArt and the aforementioned Pixiv, is its built-in translation system whereby comments can be left in either English or Japanese and be translated by the site’s own algorithm or by users at will. The goal behind the service is to facilitate communication between artists regardless of language and to have a forum solely dedicated to artwork and creation with a focus on manga and fan art.
