Humberto Saabedra

Kodansha has announced that Young Magazine, the anthology that gave rise to hit manga such as Akira and Initial D will begin serialization in a brand-new English version that will feature 19 brand-new serials from some of the most well known authors that got their start in the pages of the storied anthology. To celebrate its launch, Kodansha will launch a fan voting campaign where readers will be able to vote on the serials they want to see, and the winning entries will be featured on K MANGA.The voting starts from August 21 and the result will be announced on December 15, 2025. Hidemi Shiraki, Editor in Chief of Young Magazine comments:

For our selection, we held an open call and received submissions from over 100 manga creators. Ultimately, 19 titles were carefully selected for your enjoyment. We hope to introduce the potential of Seinen manga—which explores themes and ideas beyond the scope of Shonen—to more readers in North America, the largest manga audience outside of Japan. Immerse yourself in a deeper reading experience through complex themes and rich world-building that push beyond the boundaries of Shonen manga.

On top of that, a special physical version of the magazine will be offered at this year’s AnimeNYC to attendees, while copies will also be distributed across select Kinokuniya locations in the US to tie into a broader promotional campaign featuring autograph boards and art displays. Young Magazine has launched its official English-language social media presence on X, while its official website will launch next month on the 21st. More updates will be released from now until its official debut at Anime NYC. The inaugural issue’s cover is found below, while the complete list of featured titles follows afterward.
