Japanese Store Clerk Attacked By Presumed Stalker In Japan Inside Pokemon Storefront

Some shocking news out of Japan, as a female employee of the Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo in the Ikebukuro ward of Tokyo in her 20s was attacked by what is presumed to be a male stalker according to the most recent media reports. The incident occurred inside a local shopping center known as Sunshine City, on Thursday evening, Japan time shortly before the store was set to close for the night.

Japanese news media has further confirmed that both the presumed attacker and the victim are now deceased, with the attacker turning the weapon used to attack the victim on himself. As a result of the attack, the store will remain closed indefinitely for the length of the police investigation according to the official social media profiles of The Pokemon Company, who manage all of the Pokemon Center storefronts in Japan and across Asia.

The Associated Press further reports that a witness present during the incident described the chaos, with customers and children running out of the store after an employee was heard screaming for help, with yelling and shelves full of merchandise crashing. The witness also described seeing a store staff member with blood stains on his shirt and a man wearing black clothes forcing his way into a sales counter, presumably the assailant.

The NHK further reports that foreign customers were key to word spreading of the attack, with many of them warning others to avoid the area until authorities arrived to contain the immediate area.
