Dragonball Evolution Opens at #8

ImageDefying expectations, the Fox produced adaptation of the Dragonball saga in Dragonball: Evolution has managed a preliminary tally of $4.5 million in box office receipts for this weekend (April 10-12th) for the eighth spot on the top 10 movie list.

The movie opened in Asia last month to a warmer reception with the latest box office estimate slated at US$25.3 million across eight Asian markets, for a preliminary net total of $29,965,346 before additional openings later this Spring and Summer in Europe and Latin America, markets which have been considered especially strong for the Dragonball franchise.
