CDJapan Launches Renta! E-Manga Service

Renta logoJapanese online retailer CDJapan has launched a new e-manga service called Renta! which allows for rentals of popular Japanese manga titles at rates as low as 100 yen.

The service is tied to a CDJapan customer account and uses a Flash player for reading rented manga, with two rental options available at 48 hours or 1 year dependent on title with varying prices.

Transactions are handled by credit card to purchase virtual “tickets”, with one ticket = 100 yen and multiple ticket amounts available for purchase. While the service itself is available in English, all titles being offered are in the original Japanese with no translations available.
