THE COLORS WITHIN Anime Film Soundtrack Available Now
Humberto SaabedraMilan Records has announced the immediate release of the soundtrack to one of the year’s most anticipated animated films in THE COLORS WITHIN from celebrated director and writer Naoko Yamada. The soundtrack is a continuation of the collaboration between Yamada and hit songwriter/producer Kensuke Ushio and marks the fourth such collaboration following A Silent Voice, Liz and the Blue Bird and The Heike Story.

The 52-track collection features both score music as well as full-length versions of songs performed by the film’s characters, ranging from atmospheric, piano-driven melodies to electronic, idiosyncratic instrumentation and even New Wave-influenced synth tracks. The film is currently in US theaters under a limited engagement courtesy of GKIDS and more information on dates and times can be found on the official site.
GKIDS describes THE COLORS WITHIN:
Totsuko is a high school student with the ability to see the ‘colors’ of others. Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town. As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true ‘colors’?
