Staff: Shin Mazinger is Not Mazinger Z Remake or New Mazinger Z Series

It seems that the production staff for the forthcoming Shin Mazinger Shogeki Hen TV series has expressed concerns over the media’s handling (specifically Animedia magazine) of the new series, which was originally thought to have been either a new Mazinger Z series or a remake depending on who did the translation of the announcement.  The staff goes into further detail regarding the misinterpretation of the character for Shin, which can mean either “true” or “new” depending on context, and has requested that Animedia cease making reference to Mazinger Z when referring to Shin Mazinger Shogeki Hen, as the production staff wish to present the series as a standalone entry when it airs on April 4th in Japan.
