Sega has officially launched the tie-in promotional campaign for the forthcoming Sonic Racing CrossWorlds video game in Sonic Racing Around The World. The campaign was officially launched in the UK over the previous weekend, with Sega paying tribute to its previous involvement in high-level motorsport, as the sponsor of the 1993 Formula 1 European Grand Prix held at Donington Park and best known for two iconic moments: Three-time Driver’s World Champion Ayrton Senna passing four cars on the first lap of a race held in torrential rain, and the image seen around the world and passed on across the decades of Senna holding up a customized Sega-branded Sonic The Hedgehog trophy on the podium after dominating the race for the McLaren Formula 1 team, who are involved with this campaign in conjunction with Red Bull’s European marketing and promotions arm.

The campaign features multiple avenues of participation with exclusive merchandise, contests and campaign updates in the run up to the game’s release, as well as the release of free bonuses such as a newly released one-shot manga Sonic The Hedgehog: BLUE RACER. While the manga itself is free and available as a PDF download, the manga is untranslated from Japanese, although dialogue is minimal. Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will be released on September 25th for Sony PS5/PS4, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
