New Fullmetal Alchemist Anime to Premiere in April after Gundam OO

The Japanese Fullmetal Alchemist webpage has been updated with a teaser tralier shown after Sunday’s episode of Gundam OO for the second Fullmetal Alchemist TV series.

The new series was confirmed as far back as July of this year when a supposed internal document from Studio BONES was leaked, with further confirmation coming in August in the form of a spinecard announcement on the 20th volume of the manga.  To clarify, this will not be a direct continuation of the previous series and subsequent feature-length film, but will be a second series adapting more of the current manga in the previous form as the the first series with an original ending.

More information will be provided in the forthcoming issue of Monthly Shonen Gangan, which is the publication where the manga is serialized, and rumors are circulating that the series is nearing its conclusion within the magazine.
