Boris/Ian Astbury Japanese metal band Boris have recorded a new 4 song EP titled ‘BXI’ with The Cult/Doors of the 21st century vocalist Ian Astbury slated for release this September on renowned label Southern Lord in the US, which handles all of the band’s US output.  The EP’s four songs were recorded in Japan in late April where Astbury sang three of the songs and Boris guitarist Wata handled vocals on a cover of the The Cult song ‘Rain.’  Cover artwork will be handled by label head Stephen O’ Malley, also of Sunn O))).

The band will be touring the US throughout July and August and play at the US All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in New York being curated by film director Jim Jarmusch also in September.
