New details have surfaced regarding the Hellsing OVA series currently in production via Geneon’s Rondo Robe committee, with studio changes, a definite end point and the original Gonzo connection coming full circle.  The details were posted on the official portal for the series earlier today with the Blu-Ray boxset release in Japan.

Famed studios Madhouse and Satelight have been replaced with two new studios founded by ex Gonzo Digimation employees in Graphinica and Kelmadick, both specializing in CG animation with work spanning across  “Blue Submarine No.6”, “Yukikaze”, “Last Exile”, “Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo” and “Afro Samurai” among others. The series will also end at ten volumes, with volumes 8-10 being called the “final season.”

Over on the western side, Funimation relicensed the series from Geneon in 2008 during Anime Expo with confirmation that the series fifth volume would be released in the future this past summer.
