In a possible attempt to enter the concert promotion business, or as a result of the fact that J-Rock has yet to really make an impact in the US outside of anime conventions, Funimation has announced via its newsletter that it will co-sponsor both Dir En Grey’s and Miyavi’s Dallas tour dates as a presenting sponsor along with the Trees night club.

Dir En Grey will be playing on December 5th in Dallas in support of its latest album “Dum Spiro Spero” while Miyavi will be playing a make up date on November 8th as a result of missing the Dallas date of his world tour last year due to personal illness on his current “What’s My Name” tour. Dir En Grey’s music video for the first single off of their latest album “Different Sense” uses footage from the Mahou Shoujo Ai anime adaptation. Miyavi is best known for his work as a solo guitarist and for participating in the S.K.I.N supergroup, which made its debut during Anime Expo in 2007.
