The Daily Yorimuri newspaper has filed a report on the increasing popularity of study guides for academic subjects such as mathematics, chemistry and physics with moe inspired characters personifying such concepts as the Periodic Table of Elements, neutrinos, and other ideas which are at times difficult to adequately describe in detail using only text descriptions.

The report goes on to gather comments from former education minister Akito Arima being unconvinced of the utility of such guides. Slashdot recently posted a user review of one such guide in English, known as the The Manga Guide to Statistics and gave it a resoundingly positive review despite some shortcomings.
