Berserk Manga Author Suspends Serialization…to Play IdolMaster?

According to reports, Berserk author Kentaro Miura is suspending the Berserk serial after only recently restarting in order to focus on playing the wildly popular iDOLMASTER series of idol simulation games developed by Bandai-Namco in Japan.

While this may seem to be a rather incredible reason for suspension of one of the most internationally successful manga serials in Berserk, two pictures taken from the most recent Young Animal anthology only serve to confirm the suspension, with the author commenting “I was lonely so I bought Idol Master and an Xbox”.

Muira is well-known within the Japanese otaku blogosphere for his obsession with Japanese video site NicoNicoDouga as well as recently illustrating a special cover for Chika Umino, author of the March’s Lion shoujo manga as a token of thanks for her illustrating a special cover on a recent collected Berserk volume.
