Bandai Entertainment has released the first English-dubbed trailer for the upcoming second season to the Code Geass political mecha action drama.

The first episode of the second season is slated to premiere on Friday on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim online video service “Adult Swim Fix” as a premiere, with the television debut set for November 2nd at 5:00 AM EST/4:00AMCST

Code Geass R2 continues the story of Lelouch Lamperouge, a student exiled from his past as a member of the Britannian Royal Family, and his quest to topple his father the King to secure a world of peace for his blind and quadriplegic sister.

The series was a victim of scheduling cutbacks for Japanese anime by Adult Swim and was relegated to the 5AM “cancellation graveyard” slot along with Geneon Entertainment’s Seirei no Moribito known in English as Moribito: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit.

The decision to continue the broadcasts has been speculated as a consequence of the contractual agreement signed by both parties, with Code Geass experiencing stellar ratings for the premiere of the first season episode, and increasingly tepid numbers for each subsequent episode, leading to the scheduling changes.
