Japanese animation licensor Aniplex (owned by Sony Corp.) has launched an official US portal for the two Gurren Lagann feature films in Gurren Lagann the Movie: Childhood’s End and Gurren Lagann The Movie 2: The Lights In The Sky Are Stars. Both films have been previously screened by Viz Cinema in San Francisco as part of opening celebrations for the facility this past February and are a compressed retelling of the television series with new animation sequences.

The portal currently features a placeholder image of the iconic drill key worn by main protagonist Simon and not much more information at this time. This marks the first time Aniplex has opened an official US portal for anime that has yet to be licensed by a local distributor in the US, suggesting a licensing announcement in the near future.
