Tailenders promo wallpaperClips from the pilot episode of the Tailenders independent anime TV series project have been posted online.

The clips are hosted by the French Babelgum video portal in cooperation with online media licensor GONG, who handle online media streaming licenses for many anime titles in the US via YouTube and Hulu. The streams can be viewed from within the US and are embedded after the Continue Reading link.

The Tailenders series is being produced by the Hokkaido-based Picograph animation studio, in association with the Anime Innovation Tokyo production commitee.

As previously reported, the series is about the story of a promising race car driver named Tomoe Shiro. When he nearly dies in an accident, he’s saved by having his natural heart replaced with the core of his car’s engine.  However, now deemed an automobile part, he’s subsequently banned from racing as a driver, forcing him to migrate to a distant frontier planet where racers barred from sanctioned racing are allowed to drive freely.
