T-Mobile 3G DNS Servers Possibly Compromised

Humberto Saabedra

A group of readers on Android Community are reporting widespread issues with web surfing on the T-Mobile G1. The issue stems from a possible DNS hijack on the 3G gateway, which is redirecting users to a fake spyware detection page instead of directing to the desired site.

Calls to T-Mobile technical support are leading to generic device reset instructions, with many users expressing frustration.

T-Mobile has not officially released a statement regarding the situation at this time.  PhoneNews.com will continue to monitor the situation and will update as the situation changes.
