Sprint Adds Refurbished iPhone 4 to As You Go Prepaid Service

Sprint has quietly added the refurbished 8GB Apple iPhone 4 model to the recently launched As You Go prepaid service with little in the way of fanfare.

The Sprint As You Go prepaid service is the carrier’s own attempt at an internally controlled and branded prepaid service. The Apple iPhone 4 on Sprint As You Go requires the $70 monthly rate for smartphones, but that rate includes unlimited data access along with voice and messaging, making it a viable alternative for those with excellent Sprint coverage.

Pricing for the refurbished iPhone 4 models on prepaid is $399.99 after initial purchase with a $200 mail-in rebate, while Sprint is currently adding an additional $100 instant discount when a number is ported in from a competing carrier, bringing the initial cost to $299.99 before the mail-in rebate, bringing the total after to $99.99. It should be noted that the offer, while listed online, is exclusive to Sprint corporate stores and Telesales and is not available online or through third-party retailers.

With the iPhone 4 now available on Sprint’s new prepaid service, it’s sure to increase the appeal of the offering to more customers, which has been steadily gaining traction even as Sprint also manages more well-known prepaid brands in Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile through its Prepaid Group.
