Following the announcement of the Tablet Z in Japan at the beginning of the year, Sony has announced that it will launch the tablet in the US later this month via SonyStyle online store listings.

The Xperia Tablet Z takes after the design of the current generation of Xperia smartphones and features a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, Android Jelly Bean 4.1, a 10.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200 resolution display with the updated Mobile Bravia Engine 2 rendering engine, an 8.1-megapixel camera with the Exmor R camera sensor module , NFC support, LTE support via Qualcomm’s MDM9215M radio, microSD expansion and Sony’s own “S-Force” virtual surround sound technology into a 6.9mm-thick, 495 gram body shell, making it as light as the current iPad Mini, at the expense of total battery capacity at 6,000 mAh.

Sony Style is also throwing a bonus for those that pre-order now by including an additional dock exclusive to the White version of the tablet, valued at $44.99 when orders are placed before May 24th. The 16GB version is up for $499.99 and the SonyStyle exclusive 32GB version is up for pre-order at $599.99.
