SukashikashipanmanActress and idol Shoko Nakagawa, better known as Shoko-tan to her devoted fanbase, has posted an entry to her blog that confirms her Sukashi Kashipan Man (literally “sand dollar sweet bun man”) character has a US-produced live-action project in the works according to narinari.com. Further in the entry, she insists it isn’t a joke and the development is in fact ongoing with no further details.

The character was first created in 2007 by the idol based on her dual interest in sweet buns (kashi pan) and sand dollars (sukashikashipan), which was subsequently turned into a smal scale multimedia franchise consisting of a mobile phone anime series, Nintendo DS game, a manga anthology published in Japan, a branded sweet bun sold in the Lawson convenience store chain and the Japanese Sukashi Kashipan Man the Movie DVD being released last August in Japan.
