Of Conventions and Washouts

ImageIf you’ve noticed the lack of news over the past week, its not for lack of trying.

As I alluded to in a prior post, my main focus for last week was covering CTIA Wireless 2009 for PhoneNews.com (big hint here for anime con chairs and industry executives regarding my position in the news media), an expo/convention dedicated to the international wireless industry held every year in Las Vegas.

Well, all that time spent getting everything ready and preparing for my trip, once I got there and actually started covering the expo, there wasn’t much there to begin with which kind of sucked because it was my first time covering the convention (free alcohol and food was a big highlight on top of parties at VIP events).

In fact, the only major announcements actually happened outside of the convention (OK, maybe one) at other concurrent conventions and events. It was so bad, we decided to wait until the end of the convention to get everything up.

In any case, I’ll be catching up on the news all day while recovering from a bug, but if you want to help out, get in touch.
