MWC: Nokia Launches Maps 2.0 Beta Program, Announces Maps for Series 40

Humberto Saabedra

Nokia has launched a news version of its Maps application for Series 60 phones. The biggest addition to the application is the Walk feature, which is a mode for pedestrian navigation as well as the addition of more than 150 individual country maps and the companion Nokia Map Loader.

Nokia cautions users that upgrade to the beta release not use or purchase existing Traffic information data as it contains a known issue with downloading too much data when activated.

Nokia also announced the future availability of its Maps application on Series 40 devices in the second half of 2008 with no specific devices mentioned.
