Aggregators Deliberately Obscuring Yaoi/Yuri and Licensed Titles

Following up on the internal strife occurring within the MangaFox aggregator, the RedDeer Forum blog has discovered that the aggregator is deliberately obscuring yaoi/yuri titles to appear compliant with Google’s AdSense terms of service, which explicitly prohibits explicit pornography.  The titles will still appear via permalink and bookmark as normal complete with banner ads.

The smoking gun is the admission of the practice of obscuring yaoi/yuri titles from the search engine by one of the now retired site admins.

A cursory search of yaoi/yuri and general titles via multiple search engines (Bing, Google and Yahoo Site Explorer) has confirmed the practice along with the discovery of licensed titles such as Junjo Romantica that were first thought to be removed completely from the aggregator service, another clear violation of the terms of service which also prohibits the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted content.

Another aggregator in AnimeA has also been obscuring licensed titles in a similar attempt to skirt policy with titles such as Naruto also available via permalink and bookmark despite having links removed on their respective index pages.
