Pirated Haruki Murakami Novels Found on iTunes

Haruki MurakamiA Chinese company has been discovered on Apple’s iTunes App Store that is providing unauthorized Japanese versions of novels from Norwegian Wood author Haruki Murakami machine translated from Chinese.

The novels in question are “1Q84″ and “Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World”. As the author and publisher Shinchosha have not authorized digital versions, the sale of the novels along with those of author Keigo Higashino (whom has also not authorized digital versions) by the same Chinese developer constitute a clear case of infringement, with Shinchosha appealing to Apple to remove the unauthorized novels from sale.
